Over the last 15 years, graphic
installation technology has dramatically improved. These improvements in
materials, printing technology, and inks have lead to the growth in
graphic installations. This includes the increasing popular vehicle
wrapping and window installations, which turn an avenge vehicle into a
rolling billboard.
Graphic installation on windows, vehicles, and outdoors has been made
easier with the developments of self-adhesive vinyl's, and pressure
sensitive adhesives. These new forms of vinyl enable graphic installers
to adjust the graphics before their final placement without damaging
either the graphic or the surface.
The large graphic installations that have become popular on vehicles are
called vehicle wraps. These are images, which are printed on thin panes
of vinyl, then applied to the vehicle's surface to create a seamless all
over graphic image. The vinyl used for wraps is durable, lasting up to
three years without leaving a residue or harming the vehicle's surface,
in fact, the vinyl actually protects the vehicle
from scratches.
Window graphic installations are popular to use along with vehicle wraps
to completely cover the vehicles. Window graphics used on vehicles is
perforated vinyl, which does not restrict the driver's vision, but
doesn't permit those outside the vehicle to see in. The outside of the
vehicle appears to be a solid colorful graphic or photo-realistic image.
However, do to some recent window tinting laws that were past to protect
Law enforcement officers, some window graphics are illegal, therefore
before installations check the laws in your area concerning vehicle
window treatments.
